About The Workshop Team

The Workshop is the manifestation of a dream to bring the creative arts to the community using fun and affordable classes for all ages.

The Workshop provides all of the materials necessary for each project class while offering step by step instruction geared toward the age and skill level of the participants. Pricing and classes offered can be customized for special events and groups. The Workshop also participates in many of the local craft festivals and artisan markets by selling the handmade items that are offered in the various classes for both adults and children.

Owners, Shannon King, and Ashley Cash, have been best friends since 6th grade when they met in homeroom in middle school in southeast Atlanta. Ashley’s outgoing personality and Shannon’s quiet and thoughtful demeanor are a perfect match. Truly a yin and yang partnership built to last through the years. Twenty-five years later, after working together in the corporate design industry, they have built The Workshop in an effort to bring their community together while serving the Lord and His will for the business. Shannon and Ashley bring different skills to the table and create a synergy full of creativity, laughter, and family. The goal of The Workshop is to leave a positive and lasting mark on all of those who are involved.

Ashley Cash

Ashley is a mother, wife, businesswoman, sales executive and lover of all things handmade and recycled. Ashley has spent her entire career in the corporate world working for large companies in the Atlanta area as a sales account executive. Now ready to change her focus to her love of art, crafting and build her business with her childhood best friend and co-owner of The Workshop, Shannon King. Together, they want to make a difference in their communities by offering affordable craft and art classes to people of all ages.

Ashley enjoys hunting in local antique and vintage markets for unique finds that she can up-cycle into something modern and chic. She uses these creations as an inspiration to create fun and entertaining classes to offer thru The Workshop. Ashley loves to teach others new techniques and feels that it is important to use the arts as a creative outlet to bring balance to one’s life. Ashley has been a member of Rockdale Baptist Church since 1991 and gives God all the glory for The Workshop’s success.

Shannon King

Shannon is a God loving, hardworking, devoted mother, wife and crafter to the core. She has loved the arts and crafting all things since grade school. Graduating from The Art Institute of Atlanta for Interior Design, she dedicated her adult career to the corporate furniture design industry, creating work-spaces for very large & small companies all over the country.

Shannon enjoys running outdoors and crafting up various home décor pieces for all occasions. After moving to a small town and growing stronger in her faith, Shannon felt the pull to use her talent and influence to make a positive mark in her community. So, when asked by long-time best friend, Ashley Cash to start a business doing just that, the answer was simple, and The Workshop was born.
